Video Blu-ray

Here you will find all the settings that concern copying a Blu-ray disc.

Video Blu-ray Settings
  • Enable Blu-ray support

    Enables/disables Blu-ray support

  • Remove prohibited user operations

This will remove all user prohibited operations (not allowed to change or disable subtitles, not allowed to skip copyright notice). Please note, that sometimes user actions which were prohibited will now lead to a “dead end” and your player software may behave strange or may even crash.

  • Remove annoying adverts and trailers

All video sequences that are usually played before the first menu appears or BD-J is loaded, will be skipped during playback.

  • Remove video sequences shorter than

Video sequences that don’t belong to a menu and are shorter than the specified playback time will be skipped during playback. This will work with all Blu-ray discs, including Java titles.

  • Disable BD-Live

This option will disable BD-Live (interactive content over the internet). This option should be enabled, if region code is removed.

  • Simulate connected 3D display

Discs authored to play only in 3D can be viewed on a 2D display. A 3D capable player must be used for playback.

  • Remove Blu-ray Region Code

If this option is enabled, the region check on Blu-ray discs will be removed.

    • Region A: North America, Central America, South America, Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia
    • Region B: Europe, Middle East, Africa, Australia, New Zealand
    • Region C: Russia, India, China, Rest of the World
    • Remove Blu-ray country code: Some US anime discs require this

    Important

You must set the Blu-ray region in AnyDVD to match the region of the disc you wish to play or copy!

Tip

You ought to try to remember which settings you have changed and which effect this has had, but if not, do not worry. Just hit the “Default” button. It might become your best friend in the first few days.

Speedmenu

The speedmenu, if you activate it, will replace the original Blu-ray menu on a disc you insert if you play it back on your computer. It will also replace it if you rip the content of a Blu-ray disc to your hard drive, or make a copy. The new menu will allow direct access to the main features on a Blu-ray disc, without having to wait through annoying trailers and warnings.

  • Keep Original Menu

If this option is enabled, speedmenu will offer you to play the original menu. This provides you with additional flexibility.

    However, there are some drawbacks:

    1. It may not work with all discs. AnyDVD will show a warning, if it couldn’t keep the original menu.
    2. Playback from the last watched position will not work, if the disc has Java menus.

There are several menu designs available through the RedFox website. Just click on the button and see waht we have to offer :)

Subtitles

AnyDVD offers several options to manipulate how subtitles are displayed if you copy a Blu-ray disc.

Video Blu-ray Subtitle Settings
  • Blu-ray Subtitle processing

Enable or disable Blu-ray subpicture processing

  • Subtitle Position

You can change the position, where subtitles are shown. This is a very useful feature, as subtitles are often not where you want them.

  • Subtitle Transparency

You can specify the transparency of subtitles & subpictures. This can be helpful if you use a projection system, because bright subtitles can reduce the contrast of the picture. You can specify the visibility in percent, e.g. 100% is solid, 50% is half transparent, 0% is invisible.
